Today was a take a break day as we traveled to Happy Valley, Oregon to tour the million dollar homes in the Street of Dreams. Our daughter, Vicki and her husband are planning a major remodel of their home in Vancouver so she wanted company to check into what's trending in home decor. The homes were fun to tour, but there was not one that I would want to live in. In fact, it reinforced the choices we made when we built our dream home seven years ago.
The break was nice, but now I'm ready to get back into class and workshop preparation for the new mini. With Simply Stampin' Lunch Bunch and my downline Aerubbecisor group dinner on Tuesday, I cased four of the five cards that everyone will make. Convention was a wonderful source of ideas so some came from that. My first card is fairly simple in keeping with the theme of the
luncheon class. I just purchased the Sweetbriar Rose and decided to celebrate the end of summer with a bright and cheery design. The colors are Old Olive, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight. I colored the flowers with the Blendabilities which are so easy to use. And in keeping with my promise to start using as many retired accessories as possible on non official Stampin' Up! Events, I included the cute arrow clip that has been retired, but will suggest substituting either the Essentials Hardware Clips or the Basics Hodgepodge Clips.
I have four more Simply Stampin' cards to share over the next couple of days and then I will share all of the great swap cards that my downline group have submitted this month. Then, of course, there will be the eight holiday cards for next Saturdays class. Lots of stuff to share in my posts in the next several days.
